Olly was back in the Saturday Kitchen this weekend with Matt at the helm. chefs Kate Jenkins and the Fallow Boys and the cast of Rivals!!

With an 80’s inspired dinner party theme, Olly resurrected these classic recipes from the era. Some more popular than others!..

LONG ISLAND ICE TEA 
Ingredients
15ml vodka
15ml light rum
15ml gin
15ml silver tequila
15ml triple sec
30ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
15ml simple syrup
30ml cola, to top
Ice: cubed
Garnish: lemon wedge
Glass: High ball

Method
Fill a shaker with ice
add all the ingredients except the cola
Shake vigorously to chill
Strain into a glass filled with ice and top with the cola
Garnish with a lemon wedge

WOO WOO 
Ingredients
30ml vodka
30ml peach schnapps
75ml cranberry juice
Ice: Cubed
Garnish: lime wedge
Glass: tumbler

Method
Fill a glass with ice
Add all the ingredients
Stir to combine
Garnish with lime wedge

BLUE LAGOON 
Ingredients
40ml vodka
30ml blue curaçao
25ml freshly squeezed lime juice
70ml Sprite/7UP
Ice: cubed
Garnish: orange slice and maraschino cherry
Glass: gin balloon

Method
Fill glass with ice
Pour vodka, blue curaçao and lime juice into glass
Top up with Sprite/7UP
Garnish with orange slice and cherry
 
FROZEN GRASSHOPPER 
Ingredients
30ml green crème de menthe
30ml white crème de cacao
2 scoops vanilla ice cream
Ice: crushed
Garnish: Chocolate powder
Glass: martini glass

Method
Add all the ingredients to a blender along with a small handful of crushed ice
Blend until smooth
Pour the mixture into a glass
Garnish with a light dusting of chocolate powder

PIÑA COLADA 
Ingredients
60ml 3 year old rum
30ml pineapple juice
30ml orange juice
22.5ml coconut cream
7.5ml freshly squeezed lime juice
Fresh pineapple slice or tinned
Ice: crushed
Garnish: fresh pineapple wedge & umbrella
Glass: hurricane

Method
Place a scoop of crushed ice in a blender
Add all the ingredients
Blend until smooth
Tap into a hurricane glass
Garnish with a pineapple wedge

To go with Will and Jack, the Fallow Boys, Tacos, Olly picked Specially Selected Rouge Clair 2025 from Aldi (£8.99) – with its magic label that tells you when the wine is chilled!

With Kate’s Black Forest Brownie Tower, Olly poured a glass of the Co-op’s Irresistible Pedro Ximenez (£8.75).

With Matt’s Chicken Kyiv, Olly would have paired Winzer Krems Grüner Veltliner 2024, Majestic (from £10.50).

With Matt’s Chow Mein. Olly poured  Vilarnau Cava Brut Reserva 2023, Majestic (from £10.50).
