Westwell Pelegrim NV
I love this dazzler of a wine which features in Death By Noir and indeed I recently enjoyed a glass at The Mulwray wine bar on Rupert Street in London’s Soho (I warmly recommend the bar but do book – it gets busy). Westwell have created something extraordinary in this Kentish Non-Vintage blend, a wine with such high bright tension that if it could sing, it would doubtless be able to shatter every Great British window with its irresistible rising trill. And yet, there’s a sense of opulence here too thanks to some extended lees ageing. Get some green olives and splash out on this bottle for an upbeat springtime treat.
