The Best Fitou
Here’s a wine that blew my socks off at the recent Morrisons press tasting.
Morrisons The Best Fitou 2023 is a red with outrageous perfume, peppery spice and blackcurrant fruit – and that’s just the aromas! When you sip it, this bargain beauty is rich and ripe with silky almond depth and plenty of black cherry power to keep you gripped. It’s structured with firm, fine tannin that makes it bang on for a barbecue or weeknight feast and I’d warmly recommend decanting it into a jug to unleash its full range of complexity.
For under a tenner, this fabulous Fitou is a joyful reminder of southern France’s outstanding heritage and delight.
