Olly’s best wines for under £15

Looking for a great bottle of wine at a bargain price?

Olly’s here to help, with the best wines under £15.

I was recently blown away at a tasting – wines between £8 and £15 notably outgunned almost every other price-point bang for buck, including a couple of bottles costing four and five times more. I love to be reminded that stellar value is thriving, but it strikes me above all that Portugal’s characterful superstars are remarkably memorable for under £15. With more than 250 local grapes to explore and every climate from the coast to the mountains, Portugal is a world of wine to celebrate – and for a tenner, my wine of the week is more than good value.

Vendanges Nocturnes Cinsault Syrah Rosé 2021 (12.5%), £6.69*, Waitrose. Zingy, zesty rosé with the right welly to sip alongside an early barbecue. *On offer until 17 May – usually £8.99

Elegant Frog Malbec 2020 (13.5%), £8, Sainsbury’s. Floral aromas and ripe as a strawberry on a sunbed, this red is jaw-dropping value.

Bosman Adama Fairtrade White 2020 (13%), £10, Co-Op. Fragrant, aromatic, gorgeous and bright: lovely with a fresh crunchy salad.

DV Catena Tinto Historico Cabernet Franc 2019 (13.5%), £12, Tesco. Sleek and rich with a laser-like tang, this is a svelte stunner for your Sunday roast.
