Les Grandes Serres Cairanne ‘Carius’ 2018

A rampage of a red wine that belongs in everyone’s basket. With 20% of the wine aged for a year in French Oak, the result is a red of lovely firm structure with lush spice, gorgeous fruit and all the romping character you’ll ever need for a bold barbecue red.

Blended from 60% Grenache with 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre the scent of the wine is what I love most of all. There’s a dusky exotic warmth to it that reminds me of… wait for it.. apricots. Truly a steal of a wine that belies its price from a terrific vintage that shows once again that the Co-Op should be high on your list for Hot Bottles this year.
