Found Scheurebe
I tasted through a bunch of supermarket wines this week and the M&S ‘Found’ range stood out with some belters. Get your hands on this lesser-known grape Scheurebe, a cross between Riesling and Bouquet Blanc online at Ocado and on the shelves at M&S. Golly it’s good! Really succulent and juicy with a very specific fruit – really intriguing aromas of custard apple (Cherimoya), pear and guava with a little bit of passionfruit on the nose. The flavours are tantalizing – something like the crunch of Skittles or Tutti-Fruittis. An excellent wine from the Pfalz region of Germany with a really lovely juicy character. A fantastic pairing with Thai cooking and anything with a little bit of spice to it. If you already enjoy Albariño you’re going to love this German gem.
