Finest Fino Sherry

Are you a fan of martinis? Green olives? If you’re nodding away, fino sherry should be top of your list to sip all summer long. Forget the sweet, dark richness that sherry often conjures: fino is pale, bright and powerfully briny. Fortified to 15%, serve it fridge cold with nibbles such as Spanish ham and anchovies, or try a measure topped up with lemonade over ice and add fresh mint leaves for a rebujito cocktail.

Fino Sherry (15%), £5.25, Morrisons. Incredible value for this real-deal fino. Keep it ready in the fridge to pour pronto.

Winemaker’s Selection Pale Dry Fino Sherry (15%), £5.60, Sainsbury’s. A bottle of sea-breeze power that’s terrific served cool with tapas.

Finest Aged Fino Sherry (15%), £6 for 37cl, Tesco. A handy half-bottle packed with rich flavours of sharpness and salinity.

Tio Pepe Fino en Rama (15%), £15.50, The Wine Society. Richest of the lot, the extra cash brings stellar complexity and scrumptious depth.
