Bargain Summer Rosé

I lost my heart to Provence, due in part to the climate creating delicious ingredients for the local food and drink scene. Rosé is the speciality wine of the region and while I still adore its unique tension, caught between savoury depth and thirst-quenching appeal, prices are a little too hot for me. You can find decent Provence rosé under £10 such as M&S Classics Côtes de Provence Rosé 2021 for £9.50. But invest in other Mediterranean corners for good-value summery treats, or break out to Greek pinks for the full aromatic effect.

Mirabeau Pret-a-Porter Rosé To Go (12.5%), £3.49, Waitrose. Chill this canned rosé for a picnic or take away on a trip. Terrific for informal occasions.

Irresistible Solo Pale Spanish Rosé 2021 (13.5%), £7.25, Co-Op. Great value for an all-rounder if you’re firing up the grill. This has welly as well as elegance.

Skouras Cuvée Prestige Rosé 2021 (13%), from £8.99, Majestic. Scented aromas and sharp refreshment from this great Greek zinger.

Arbousset Tavel Rosé 2021 (13.5%), £12, Tesco. Full throttle rosé to sip with food. Richly tangy, this is liquid grandeur.
